Regulation & Complaints

In the unlikely event that you are not happy with our service, then because we are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 647441), you have the right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman. In the first instance you should put your concerns in writing to John Martin at this firm, who will investigate, seek to resolve and provide a written outcome. If we are unable to resolve a complaint, then you may apply to the Legal Ombudsman, who will consider your complaint independently as long as you have first tried to resolve the complaint with ourselves and have then applied to the Legal Ombudsman within 6 months of us providing a final response. Any complaint to the Legal Ombudsman should be made no more than 6 years from the act or omission you are complaining about and must be no more than 3 years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint. The Legal ombudsman can be contacted by e mail at enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk and by phone on 0300 555 0333. The Solicitors Regulation Authority can assist if you are concerned about a solicitor’s behaviour, for example dishonesty, not dealing with your money properly, or treating you unfairly because of age, disability or some other protected characteristic. Please see their website to see how concerns can be raised at sra.org.uk.
